From 09/17/18 until 05/01/19, WQPO will conduct its “Gold Star Teacher of the Month” feature.  Listeners will have the opportunity to nominate a teacher in the community that they feel deserves some recognition for all that they do. Each month (1) teacher from Harrisonburg City/Rockingham County Schools and (1) teacher from Augusta County/Staunton City/Waynesboro City Schools will be chosen from all nominations received to date and named as the “Q101 Gold Star Teacher of the Month” and will receive a $35.00 Gift Card from Green Valley Book Fair, Q101 station gear, and Papa John’s Pizza for their entire class.

Deadline to Enter: 5/01/19 at 3:00pm

Winners are chosen Monthly by Q101 judges based on answers from question field "What makes this teacher special?". Prizes received: $35.00 Gift Card from Green Valley Book Fair, Q101 station gear, and Papa John’s Pizza for their entire class (value varies based on class size)

Teacher may only be awarded "Gold Star Teacher" once per school year.

This WQPO contest is open to all eligible Central Virginia residents 18 or older who have not won anything on WQPO or any other Harrisonburg Radio Group station in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of WQPO, Harrisonburg Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one-hundred-mile radius of the WSIG main studio are not eligible to win any contest.  Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.
